In short
- Free. No purchase, no entry fee, nothing to deposit. Ever.
- Pre-funded. A prize is only advertised once it is locked in the prize vault and verified on-chain — that is what FUNDED ✓ means.
- One @, one entry. One Fomo identity per person, one entry per drop, 18+.
- Server decides. The last player alive wins. The game server — not your client — controls every hit, item and elimination.
- Never invented. If a match can't be completed fairly it is VOID. No winner is ever made up.
1. The competition
FomoNite (“we”, the “Operator”) runs scheduled official rounds called drops (for example FOMONITE #021). Each drop is a single battle-royale match on Fomo Island between the players who entered and qualified. The outcome is decided by gameplay skill: movement, positioning, aim and decisions.
Each drop page shows its own details before entry: start time, player cap (16–32), region, entry requirement, whether disclosed bots are used, and the prize (only once funded). If a drop page and these rules ever disagree, the drop page's stated details apply to that drop and these rules apply to everything else.
Practice modes — Quick Play and the Shooting Range — are not competitions and have no prize.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher.
- Drops are void where prohibited or restricted by law. You may not take part if you live in, or are a national of, a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions, or if you appear on a sanctions list. A drop may list further regional restrictions.
- You need a linked Fomo identity in good standing. Suspended identities cannot enter.
- One person, one Fomo identity. Entering with several identities, or letting someone else play your identity, is not allowed.
- To receive a prize you need a verified reward wallet resolved from your Fomo identity.
By entering a drop you confirm that you meet these requirements. Details and examples are on the eligibility page.
3. Entering a drop
Entry opens at the time shown on the drop page. Press ENTER ROUND; qualification is checked automatically against the drop's requirement. You will never be asked for a password, a session cookie, a private key or a seed phrase.
| Requirement | What it means |
|---|---|
| Open entry | Any eligible linked Fomo identity can enter. |
| Thesis required | Your Fomo identity must have posted a qualifying thesis as described on the drop page. |
| Token hold required | Your verified wallet must hold the token and amount stated on the drop page when entry is checked. |
| Invite only | Only the handles invited for that drop can enter. |
- One entry per Fomo identity per drop. Entries are accepted in order until the player cap is reached.
- Entries lock at the lock time. If fewer qualified players than the drop's minimum have entered, entry is extended by two minutes at a time (up to five times). If the minimum is still not reached, the drop is VOID for “not enough players”.
- When entries lock, the participant order is fixed and published as part of the fairness record.
4. The match
- Lobby. Entrants connect and gather on the Launch Deck for roughly 20–30 seconds. Entrants who are not connected when the drop sequence begins are recorded as no-shows and do not take part.
- Drop. The Drop Carrier follows a route derived from the drop's committed seed. You choose when to jump; anyone still aboard at the end of the route is dropped automatically. No weapons can be used before landing.
- Fomo Storm. The safe zone shrinks in phases. Outside it you take damage that increases as the match goes on and ignores shields.
- Server authority. Movement, health, shields, ammo, firing, hit detection, loot, storm damage and eliminations are all decided by the game server.
- Disconnects. If you drop out you may reconnect within 45 seconds. Your character stays in the world and stays vulnerable the whole time; after the window it remains in the world without protection. Disconnecting never makes you invulnerable.
- Solo play. Every player is on their own. Teaming, signalling or arranging outcomes with other players is collusion and is prohibited.
5. Bots
Practice lobbies fill empty seats with bots. An official drop only includes bots if its drop page clearly discloses how many before entry opens. Disclosed bots are marked as bots in the lobby, the kill feed and the results.
A bot can never win a prize. If a bot is the last player alive, the match result stands as played but no prize is paid for that drop; the prize stays reserved and is returned to its funder under section 9.
6. Winning
The winner is the last player alive, as declared by the game server.
If the last remaining players are eliminated on the same server tick, the tie is broken in this order:
- highest combined health and shield immediately before that tick;
- then most eliminations;
- then a deterministic draw from the drop's committed seed.
When the winner is declared the game server signs the result and the drop's secret seed is revealed so anyone can verify the match on its fair-play page.
7. Prizes & payouts
- Prizes are promotional and funded in advance by the Operator or a sponsor named on the drop page. Players never contribute to a prize. A prize amount is only shown once the funds are locked in the prize vault and verified on-chain (FUNDED ✓).
- The prize is paid in the asset and on the network stated on the drop page, to the winner's verified reward wallet resolved from their Fomo identity.
- Before paying we verify: the funding, the signed result, that the winner is a human entrant of that drop in good standing, and that no unresolved high-confidence anti-cheat flag exists for that match. If any check needs a human look, the payout is held for review and the prize stays reserved meanwhile.
- Each drop pays out exactly once. Payouts are recorded on-chain and linked from the drop's result and fair-play pages.
- If the winner has no verified reward wallet yet, the prize stays reserved for them until a wallet is verified.
- Prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged. Winners are responsible for any taxes that apply to them.
8. VOID rounds
A drop is declared VOID — with no winner — when it cannot be completed fairly. That includes:
- Server failure: the authoritative game server stops mid-match and the match cannot be reliably recovered.
- Mass disconnect: 40% or more of connected players drop within 10 seconds because of an outage.
- Not enough players after the entry extensions in section 3.
- Integrity: the Operator voids the drop because of a technical fault or rules violation that affected the outcome.
A VOID drop never produces a winner and nothing is ever paid on the basis of an outage.
9. Where a prize goes when no one is paid
Because entry is free, there is nothing to refund to players. When a drop is VOID, or a disclosed bot wins, the reserved prize is returned from the prize vault to its funder. The return transaction is shown on the drop's pages.
10. Fair play
Before entry closes, each drop publishes seedCommit = SHA-256(secretSeed). After the lock, the match seed is derived from the secret seed, the drop id and the published participant order; the drop route, storm circles and loot are all generated from it. Every match event is chained into a tamper-evident hash that ends in the final event hash stored with the signed result.
The secret seed is revealed only after the winner is declared (revealing it earlier would expose storm circles and loot). Anyone can then recompute and verify everything in their browser on the fair-play page.
11. Anti-cheat & conduct
The game server watches for speed, flight, teleport and no-clip attempts, impossible fire rates, infinite ammo, forged hits, aim anomalies, invalid loot pickups and modified weapon stats. Detections are recorded as flags with a confidence score. No one is banned automatically for a single anomaly — flags are reviewed by a person.
Not allowed:
- cheats, aim assistance, macros, modified clients, or exploiting bugs;
- collusion, teaming, or arranging outcomes;
- multiple identities, shared identities, or playing for someone else;
- attacking, overloading or interfering with servers or other players' connections;
- harassment or abusive handles.
Breaking these rules can lead to disqualification from a drop, a held or forfeited prize, a suspended identity, or a ban.
12. What's public
Drops are social events. Your @handle, placements, eliminations, survival time, results, profile stats, leaderboard positions and match replays are public, and anyone can spectate a live drop (with a short delay on official drops). Payout transactions are public on-chain. See the privacy notice.
13. General
- We may postpone or cancel a drop before it starts, for example for technical reasons; its prize stays with its funder.
- We may update these rules. Changes apply to drops whose entry opens after the update; the rules version is shown on each drop.
- Decisions about eligibility, rules violations and VOID rounds are made in good faith on the recorded match data, which is published in the fair-play record.
- These rules sit alongside the terms of service. Questions or disputes: contact the Operator through the official FomoNite channels.
Pre-funded prize competition. No purchase, no wagering.
